I met Chelsea in college. And then we ventured on a trip to Peru together with our Spanish class.

We climbed Machu Picchu together and that’s when I learned about Chelsea’s sense for grand adventure because not only did we climb the most famous Inca citadel…we climbed a neighboring mountain looking down on the sophisticated dry-stone walls that formed huge blocks built by an Incan Emperor.

Chelsea has a big love for culture and travel. To her, experiencing the world is more valuable than any other thing will be. Adventure fills her soul with scenic routes, mountaintops, dirt roads, love for art, appreciation for culture, sunsets, road trips, airplanes and passports.

Then she told me she met a boy and got engaged. Ahh I was so happy! And she wanted me to be her photographer! I was so honored to be able to document this new adventure she was on. Her adventure of love.

So her and Joey planned their wedding and included details upon details of what meant the world to them. They have a love for the simple things in life: quality time with family and friends, craft beer, wood-fired pizza, authentic art and of course their dog, Sally “brown dog” was there too.

Close to 300 of their family and friends ventured to Denver, Colorado, from all areas of the country. They got ready in the amazingly beautiful the ART hotel. It was all parts sophisticated and refined. It displayed gorgeous works of art gathered by the Denver Art Museum. And they said their I Dos at the McNichols building, an art and event center.

Their whole wedding was filled with love. They were completely surrounded by it. You could feel it. Their wedding day also brought a lot of rain, but Chelsea never stopped smiling because she knew that was part of her adventure with Joey. And Joey was her sunshine. Their ceremony was moved indoors, but afterwards we splashed in the puddles and ran through the rain.

Their reception was so diverse and so much culture filled the air. They kept it simple with craft beer, wood-fired pizza and a live band. Once the party started, they had an Irish singer, a Jewish Horah dance and brought out Mexican fruit and Mexican corn for late night snacks.

They never stopped laughing or smiling throughout the evening. They lived at their wedding and tasted another experience of joy and reached out eagerly for what awaits them.

And so the adventure begins…

 

Chelsea and Joey, I hope your love is your greatest adventure and you get lost in beautiful places. Even if it is the grocery store. And may these adventures stir your soul.
