Emilie and Zach’s late fall engagement session at Officer’s Gulch was a snowy wonderland! We did their engagement photos in November and there was already a nice layer of snow on the ground. We spent our time walking along the trail and through the trees at Officer’s Gulch. 

Vail Engagement Session at Officer’s Gulch

Emilie and Zach are from Kansas City but now live in Colorado. They’ve been together since 2013! Zach proposed at Red Rocks in 2021 and they had a fall wedding back home in Missouri! Together they love to travel and enjoy social events with their friends! 

They brought along their two St. Bernard dogs, Dorothy and Oz, to include in engagement photos! Their dogs were super sweet and we brought them out for photos in the middle of their session.

Including your pups in engagement photos is always a great idea, but takes a bit of thought beforehand. Are your dogs comfortable hanging out in the car during the rest of the session? Is our session at a location where that is an option? Or do you have a friend or family member who could come along and hang out with the dogs? With my couples, we always make sure to have a plan in place! 

For engagement sessions during cold times of years, layering is always important. Both Emilie and Zach did an amazing job with their outfit choices and added layers! I loved the sweater and the hat that Emilie wore with her burnt orange dress! To wrap up their session they put on colorful, warm Pendleton coats for a more casual look.

Engagement Photos near Vail

Emilie and Zach wanted engagement photos in the mountains, so Officer’s Gulch was the perfect spot. Officer’s Gulch is a location right off I-70 outside of Frisco, CO. From Vail it’s about a 25-minute drive, so it’s an easy location for any of my couples staying in Vail. This location is home to a popular fishing pond and has an easy trail that loops around the water. Officer’s Gulch is a beautiful and easily accessible location for engagement photos year-round!
