Michelle and George’s fall wedding at Vail Interfaith Chapel and The Sonnenalp was a gorgeous and joy-filled day! They had a traditional ceremony at Vail’s Interfaith Chapel followed by portraits on Vail Mountain and an epic reception at The Sonnenalp!
They got engaged in the summer of 2019, so their fall wedding was in the height of 2020. Getting married in 2020 didn’t stop them from bringing their dream mountain wedding to life!
Vail is a special place to both Michelle’s family and George’s. The couple both grew up coming to the mountains of Colorado for ski and summer vacations. Michelle and George met in college at Texas A&M and are one of the sweetest couples! Before their September wedding, I met up with them for their summer engagement photos in Vail. They share a love of puns and sarcasm, so we connected really well!
Vail Interfaith Chapel is a popular wedding ceremony location in Vail, CO for good reason! It’s a beautiful chapel both inside and out and is located in central Vail Village. After Michelle and George’s wedding ceremony, we took wedding party photos in front of the chapel and by the river nearby.
Michelle’s bridesmaids wore a mix of blue bridesmaids’ dresses in various styles! The blue dresses looked beautiful all together and next to George’s groomsmen in black suits.
For Michelle and George’s portraits, we took a gondola ride up to the top of Vail Mountain. One of the best parts of getting married in Vail is getting photos with mountain views. It’s always worth it to make time in your wedding day timeline for portraits on Vail Mountain!
Michelle and George’s wedding reception at The Sonnenalp was so much fun! White flowers and greenery were used in bouquets and for the reception decor for a clean and timeless look. The Raising Cain band kept wedding guests dancing all night long! During open dancing “George” wigs made an appearance on guests on the dance floor. They were a fun way to represent George’s awesome hair! There were also rhinestone cowboy hats to put on too!
As their wedding came to a close they shared a private last dance. This is something I recommend that every couple does! After their last dance, they made their wedding getaway beneath streamers and rode off in a Vail pedicab!
Michelle and George are such a special couple to me! I got to personally deliver their wedding gallery in person. I was in Dallas for another session, so we met up at a cute little coffee shop. Over lavender lattes, I got to watch them relive their wedding day through their photos. As a wedding photographer, getting to see a couple go through their photos in person was the best!
