Tropical Storms. Hurricanes. These words are not in my vocabulary because I am blessed to live in land locked state. Of course Colorado has our own natural disasters, but I have no idea what it is like to experience a hurricane. Absolutely.No.Idea. A lot of natural disasters are affecting our country! So many people are experiencing surreal things in their life due to Hurricane Harvey and Irma right now.

When news came about Hurricane Irma, I couldn’t help but think of Alex and Sanchez. They are one of my favorite couples ever! And their family has become my family! They were married at Naples Bay Resort in Naples, Florida, which is the southwest part of Florida and on the gulf coast. It is simply paradise! Tranquil beaches and spectacular sunsets! If you have never been, you must go!!

Sanchez was raised in Naples, Florida, and Alex grew up in Colorado and now call the Rocky Mountains their home. His family still lives in Naples and even has their own Haitian family restaurant. If you want some amazing and unique food, you have to have some Haitian food!! SO good!!

When I saw that Hurricane Irma was headed straight their way, I couldn’t help and reach out and ask if they were all okay. Alex said,” they were in a shelter for three days and all remained safe. There was minimal damage on the house and their restaurant. Nothing too bad. And that they were very lucky.”

Wow!! What a blessing! I am sooo thankful that all of their family was safe during an extremely powerful and intense hurricane. I am sure they are very grateful too! I hope they are able to get back up and running quickly and that they may be able to continue to bless others!

So here are some of my favorites from Alex and Sanchez’s Naples Bay Resort Wedding! Remembering such a beautiful time I had there with each of their families. They all made me feel so welcome and a part of their family! Alex has a beautiful bond with her dad and her mom! She requested a first look with her dad, a true daddy’s girl, but her momma is her best friend. I’ve known Alex’s mom, Brenda, for quite some time now and she is an amazing beautiful woman who loves to give love! And Sanchez has a beautiful, kind soul that comes from his amazing heritage and culture.

Alex and Sanchez are a beautiful couple inside and out! I was so honored to photograph their wedding in Florida a couple years ago!

Guess what?!

They are now EXPECTING!! Baby Faugue will arrive in January!!
